The Maze Runner

A 2014 American young adult dystopian science fiction film directed by Wes Ball in his directorial debut, based on James Dashner's 2009 novel of the same name. The story follows a teenager named Thomas (Dylan O'Brien), who wakes up in an elevator with no memory of his past life and finds himself in the center of a massive maze inhabited by other boys. This group, known as the Gladers, strives to survive in harsh conditions, exploring the maze and attempting to find a way out. Thomas quickly demonstrates leadership qualities and a desire to solve the maze's mystery. Shortly after his arrival, the first girl, Teresa (Kaya Scodelario), appears, bringing with her a cryptic message. Together with other Gladers, including Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), Minho (Ki Hong Lee), and Gally (Will Poulter), Thomas faces the dangers lurking within the maze, including deadly creatures known as Grievers. The film explores themes of friendship, survival, and human nature under extreme conditions.
