The Men

The 1950 drama, set in a paraplegic ward of a veterans' hospital, follows former U.S. Army Lieutenant Ken Wilocek (Marlon Brando), who is shot in the back during World War II, resulting in paralysis and confinement to a wheelchair. Ken grapples with deep depression and a crisis of self-esteem as he attempts to come to terms with his disability and reliance on others, including his fiancée Ellen (Teresa Wright).
