The 2001 American romantic comedy directed by Adam Shankman follows Mary Fiore (Jennifer Lopez), a successful wedding planner in San Francisco who is dedicated to her career and has little time for personal relationships. One day, Mary is rescued from an accident by the charming Dr. Steve Edison (Matthew McConaughey), and a mutual attraction develops between them. However, Mary soon discovers that Steve is the fiancé of her new client, Fran Donolly (Bridgette Wilson), whose wedding she is organizing. The situation becomes more complex when Mary's father attempts to arrange her marriage to her childhood friend, Massimo (Justin Chambers). As the preparations for Fran and Steve's wedding progress, Mary and Steve grow closer, leading to internal conflicts and a reevaluation of their feelings. On the day both weddings are scheduled, Fran decides to call off her ceremony, realizing she's not ready for marriage. Steve, acknowledging his feelings for Mary, rushes to stop her wedding to Massimo. Ultimately, they both realize they are meant for each other, and the film concludes with them dancing together in the park.
