The 1999 Australian crime comedy film directed by Gregor Jordan follows 19-year-old Jimmy (Heath Ledger), who works as a bouncer at a strip club in Sydney's Kings Cross. Local crime boss Pando (Bryan Brown) offers him a simple job: deliver $10,000 to a woman in Bondi. When she doesn't answer the door, Jimmy decides to take a swim at the nearby beach, leaving the money unattended. Two street kids, Pete and Helen, steal the cash, leaving Jimmy indebted to the furious Pando and his gang. As Jimmy attempts to recover the money, he faces a series of misfortunes, including the theft of the car he used for the job and the accidental death of Pete, who is run over by Pando's associate Acko. Helen, devastated by Pete's death, seeks revenge. Meanwhile, Jimmy plans a bank robbery to repay his debt. After a failed attempt to escape Pando's gang, Jimmy narrowly avoids death and successfully executes the heist. Returning with the money, he confronts Pando but refuses to continue working for him. In the climax, Helen avenges Pete's death by killing Pando and his associates, and Jimmy departs the city with his new love interest, Alex (Rose Byrne), to start anew.
