Van Helsing

An American action horror film released in 2004, directed by Stephen Sommers. Set in the late 19th century, it follows Gabriel Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman), a legendary monster hunter working for a secret society within the Vatican. He is sent to Transylvania on a mission to destroy Count Dracula (Richard Roxburgh), who seeks to bring his vampire offspring to life. Van Helsing teams up with Anna Valerious (Kate Beckinsale), the last of an ancient family of vampire hunters, whose lineage has vowed to destroy Dracula. The film combines elements from classic monster tales, including Bram Stoker's "Dracula," Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein," and George Waggner's "The Wolf Man."
