We Own the Night

Set in Brooklyn in 1988, the film follows Bobby Green (Joaquin Phoenix), a nightclub manager whose venue is frequented by Russian gangsters, including drug dealer Vadim Nezhinski (Alex Veadov). Bobby distances himself from his family: his father, Burt Grusinsky (Robert Duvall), and brother, Joseph Grusinsky (Mark Wahlberg), are both members of the NYPD. When Joseph becomes the target of a mafia assassination attempt, Bobby decides to cooperate with the police to protect his loved ones. He infiltrates the criminal underworld, risking his own life. During the operation, his father is killed, and Bobby, overcoming internal conflicts, joins the police force to avenge his father's death and put an end to Vadim's criminal activities.
