Layer Cake

A 2004 British crime thriller directed by Matthew Vaughn in his directorial debut, based on the novel of the same name by J.J. Connolly. The plot centers around an unnamed London drug dealer (Daniel Craig) who wishes to leave the criminal world and start a legitimate life. However, his plans are disrupted when mob boss Jimmy Price (Kenneth Cranham) assigns him two challenging tasks: to find the missing daughter of his old friend and to oversee the sale of a large batch of stolen ecstasy. As he undertakes these tasks, the protagonist encounters various dangers, betrayals, and unexpected twists of fate.
