Alisa

Soviet and Russian rock band formed in 1983 in Leningrad by bassist Svyatoslav Zadery after the dissolution of his previous group "Khrustalny Shar." The initial lineup included keyboardist Pavel Kondratenko, guitarist Andrey Shatalin, and drummer Mikhail Nefyodov. In 1984, vocalist Konstantin Kinchev joined the band, becoming its permanent leader and primary songwriter. With his arrival, the band's style evolved from new wave to hard rock, later incorporating heavier elements of metal. Their debut album "Energia" (1985) achieved platinum status and brought the band widespread recognition. Subsequent significant albums include "Block of Hell" (1987), "The Sixth Forester" (1989), "Sabbath" (1990), and "For Those Who Fell from the Moon" (1993). In 1994, they released "Black Mark," dedicated to the memory of guitarist Igor Chumychkin, who committed suicide in 1993. In the 2000s, the band continued to experiment with their sound, releasing albums such as "It's Later Than You Think" (2003), "Outcast" (2005), "Ъ" (2010), "20.12" (2011), "Sabotage" (2012), "Circus" (2014), "Excess" (2016), and "Posolon" (2019). The latter two albums were funded through crowdfunding, setting records for fundraising among Russian music projects. The band is known for its devoted fan base, called the "Alisa Army," and active touring. In 2022, the group expressed support for Russian actions in Ukraine, leading to mixed public reactions.
