The 2025 American spy thriller directed by Steven Soderbergh and written by David Koepp follows British intelligence officer George Woodhouse (Michael Fassbender), assigned to investigate the leak of a top-secret software program codenamed "Severus." Suspicion falls on his wife, Kathryn St. Jean (Cate Blanchett), who is also an intelligence officer. To identify the traitor, George hosts a dinner party, inviting all suspects: satellite imagery specialist Clarissa Dubose (Marisa Abela), her boyfriend and managing agent Freddie Smalls (Tom Burke), managing agent James Stokes (Regé-Jean Page), and agency psychiatrist Dr. Zoe Vaughan (Naomie Harris). During the dinner, George drugs the guests to lower their inhibitions and engages them in a psychological game to uncover the mole. Tensions rise when Clarissa discovers Freddie's infidelity and stabs him with a steak knife. Meanwhile, George's superior, Philip Meacham (Gustaf Skarsgård), dies of a heart attack. The investigation reveals a conspiracy involving James and agency head Arthur Stieglitz (Pierce Brosnan), who plan to use "Severus" to destabilize Russia and end the war in Ukraine. Psychiatrist Zoe learns of the plan and, with Freddie's help, works to thwart it. In the climax, James confesses during the dinner and attacks Kathryn, who kills him. The film concludes with George reaffirming his loyalty to Kathryn, preserving their marriage and completing the mission. The cast also includes Kae Alexander, Ambika Mod, and others. Despite critical acclaim, the film grossed $38.4 million against a budget of $50–60 million. It premiered on March 12, 2025, in France and on March 14 in the United States.
