BRUTTO NOSTRA

Belarusian punk rock band founded on September 1, 2014, in Minsk by former Lyapis Trubetskoy frontman Siarhei Mikhalok following the disbandment of his previous group. BRUTTO NOSTRA presents itself as a "brigade of revolutionary fervor and creative resistance," blending elements of punk rock, ska punk, and street rock in its music. Their debut album, "Underdog," released on September 12, 2014, featured 12 tracks, including cover versions of songs by Andrew W.K. and Duran Duran, as well as compositions in Belarusian and English. Subsequent albums include "Rodny Kraj" (2015) and "Rokі" (2017), the latter containing songs based on poems by Ukrainian poet Serhiy Zhadan and Belarusian poet Yanka Kupala. BRUTTO NOSTRA is known for its energetic live performances and politically charged lyrics that reflect the social and cultural realities of Belarus and the post-Soviet space. In 2018, the band paused its activities but resumed creative work in late 2020 and continues to perform at concerts.
