City of God

A 2002 Brazilian crime film directed by Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund, based on the novel of the same name by Paulo Lins. Set in the poverty-stricken neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro known as "City of God," the film spans several decades starting from the 1960s. It follows the story of Buscapé, a young photographer who tries to escape the violent life of the slums and capture the harsh realities of his surroundings with his camera.
