Dr. Dolittle​

A 1998 American family comedy directed by Betty Thomas follows Dr. John Dolittle (Eddie Murphy), a successful San Francisco surgeon who, as a child, could understand animals but lost this ability after a traumatic incident with his father. Thirty years later, after a chance encounter with a talking dog, his ability returns, and he begins to hear and understand animals, including a guinea pig named Rodney (voiced by Chris Rock), a dog named Lucky (voiced by Norm Macdonald), and a tiger named Jake (voiced by Albert Brooks) suffering from headaches. Facing disbelief from those around him and the threat of being deemed insane, John undergoes an internal crisis but ultimately embraces his gift, using it to help animals, including saving the tiger's life through a complex surgery.
