A 2011 American neo-noir thriller directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. The protagonist, known only as the Driver (Ryan Gosling), works as a mechanic and stuntman in Los Angeles while moonlighting as a getaway driver for criminals. Detached and reserved, he avoids attachments, but his bond with neighbor Irene (Carey Mulligan) and her son draws him into dangerous circumstances. Trying to protect them, the Driver finds himself caught in a violent struggle with crime bosses.
