Fargo

A 1996 crime black comedy directed by Joel Coen and produced alongside his brother Ethan Coen. The film follows struggling car salesman Jerry Lundegaard (William H. Macy), who devises a plan to have his wife kidnapped in order to extort ransom money from her wealthy father. However, his scheme spirals out of control when the hired criminals, Carl (Steve Buscemi) and Gaear (Peter Stormare), act unpredictably, leading to a series of tragic events. The case is investigated by the kind yet determined pregnant police chief Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand), whose persistence unravels the bizarre crime.
