Fortress of War

A 2010 war drama directed by Aleksandr Kott, dedicated to the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress in the early days of the Great Patriotic War. The film follows three centers of resistance led by Major Pyotr Gavrilov (Aleksandr Korshunov), Commissar Yefim Fomin (Pavel Derevyanko), and Border Outpost Commander Andrey Kizhevatov (Andrey Merzlikin). The story is narrated from the perspective of 15-year-old Sasha Akimov (Aleksei Kopashov), who later became one of the few surviving defenders of the fortress.
