Hard Target

A 1993 American action film directed by John Woo. The story follows Natasha Binder (Yancy Butler), who arrives in New Orleans searching for her missing father, Douglas Binder (Chuck Pfarrer), a Vietnam veteran. During her search, she encounters Chance Boudreaux (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a former Marine and unemployed merchant seaman, who agrees to assist her for a fee. Together, they uncover that Douglas fell victim to an elite human hunting operation orchestrated by Emil Fouchon (Lance Henriksen) and his associate Pik van Cleef (Arnold Vosloo). Fouchon and van Cleef offer wealthy clients the opportunity to hunt homeless veterans, promising them monetary rewards for participation but ultimately using them as prey. Chance and Natasha confront Fouchon and his men, utilizing their skills and resourcefulness to survive and expose the criminal enterprise. In the film's climax, Chance battles Fouchon in an abandoned warehouse, employing traps and martial arts to defeat him and his henchmen. Ultimately, Fouchon meets his demise, and Natasha finds closure, learning the truth about her father's fate.
