American composer, born December 19, 1975, in Keokuk, Iowa, USA. From an early age, he showed an interest in music, learning to play the piano and composing music during his childhood. After graduating from high school, he sent his demo recordings to companies Square and LucasArts, leading to his employment at Square in 1994. His first major work was the soundtrack for the game "Secret of Evermore" (1995). Subsequently, he worked at Humongous Entertainment, where he created the acclaimed and award-winning soundtrack for "Total Annihilation". In 2000, he founded his own music company, Soule Media (later Artistry Entertainment), and in 2005, the label DirectSong to distribute his music. He is best known for his orchestral soundtracks for video game series such as "The Elder Scrolls" (including "Morrowind", "Oblivion", "Skyrim"), "Guild Wars", "Icewind Dale", "Neverwinter Nights", and the "Harry Potter" games. His compositions, such as "Dragonborn" from "Skyrim", have received widespread acclaim and have been performed at live concerts, including the Symphonic Game Music Concert and Play! A Video Game Symphony. His style combines classical orchestral music with ambient elements, creating atmospheric and memorable melodies. In 2013, he launched a Kickstarter project to create the symphony "The Northerner", raising over $120,000. However, in 2019, his career was overshadowed by allegations of sexual misconduct, after which his activities significantly declined.
