German composer and music producer, born on September 12, 1957, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. From an early age, he showed an interest in music, learning to play the piano, guitar, and drums. In 1971, he moved to England, where he began his career in the music industry, working on advertising jingles and collaborating with various musical groups. In the 1980s, he started working with composer Stanley Myers, leading to the creation of the Lillie Yard Studio and work on several films. His breakthrough came in 1988 with the film "Rain Man," earning his first Academy Award nomination. In 1994, he won the Oscar for Best Original Score for "The Lion King." Throughout his career, he has composed music for over 150 films, including "Gladiator," "Interstellar," "Inception," "The Dark Knight," and "Dune." His work is characterized by blending electronic sounds with traditional orchestral arrangements. He has received two Academy Awards, five Grammy Awards, three Golden Globes, and numerous other accolades. In 2007, he was included in The Daily Telegraph's list of the "Top 100 Living Geniuses."
