Johnny English Reborn

The 2011 British spy comedy directed by Oliver Parker, written by Hamish McColl, serves as a sequel to the 2003 film and the second installment in the Johnny English franchise. After a failed mission in Mozambique, MI7 agent Johnny English (Rowan Atkinson) retreats to a Tibetan monastery, training in martial arts and meditation. When MI7 learns of a plot to assassinate the Chinese Premier, English is called back into service. Under the leadership of new boss Pegasus (Gillian Anderson), he teams up with young agent Colin Tucker (Daniel Kaluuya) and psychologist Kate Sumner (Rosamund Pike). Their investigation leads them to the international organization "Vortex," comprising three agents, one of whom is English's colleague Simon Ambrose (Dominic West). Through unconventional methods and accidental successes, English uncovers the conspiracy and prevents the assassination. The film blends parody with dynamic scenes, including a chase in Hong Kong and the use of spy gadgets. The soundtrack was composed by Ilan Eshkeri. With a budget of $45 million, the film grossed over $160 million worldwide.
