A 2013 American comedy directed by Jon Turteltaub and written by Dan Fogelman, "Last Vegas" follows four childhood friends from Brooklyn—Billy (Michael Douglas), Paddy (Robert De Niro), Archie (Morgan Freeman), and Sam (Kevin Kline)—who, now in their senior years, decide to throw a bachelor party in Las Vegas for Billy, the last unmarried member of their group, who plans to marry his much younger girlfriend, Lisa. Each friend faces personal challenges: Archie, a Vietnam veteran, struggles with health issues and an overprotective son; Sam feels bored in his marriage and receives permission from his wife to have an affair; Paddy has become reclusive after his wife Sophie's death and harbors resentment toward Billy for missing her funeral. In Las Vegas, the friends encounter various adventures: Archie wins big at a casino, Sam contemplates infidelity, and Billy and Paddy confront unresolved issues from their past, including their mutual affection for Sophie. They meet lounge singer Diana (Mary Steenburgen), who captures the interest of both Billy and Paddy. As events unfold, Billy realizes he doesn't truly love Lisa and fears aging alone, while Paddy decides to move forward with his life. The film concludes with Billy and Diana planning to marry, and the friends returning to their lives with renewed outlooks. The film received mixed reviews from critics but was commercially successful, grossing $134.4 million worldwide against a $28 million budget.
