A Man Called Ove

A 2015 dramedy based on the novel of the same name by Fredrik Backman. Ove (Rolf Lassgård) is a grumpy old man who, after the death of his wife and retirement, feels lonely and disillusioned with life. He meticulously enforces order in his neighborhood and often clashes with his neighbors. However, his world starts to change when a lively young family moves in next door, and their cheerful neighbor Parvaneh (Bahar Pars) unexpectedly finds a way into Ove’s heart. As time passes, he begins to reevaluate his outlook on life and discovers new meaning. The film received critical acclaim and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
