Marilyn Manson

An American music artist who began his career in 1989 in Florida, USA, blending elements of industrial rock, glam rock, and alternative metal, becoming one of the most controversial and influential artists of his time. The band, initially known as Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids, was founded by Brian Hugh Warner (vocals) and Scott Putesky (guitar), later shortening the name to Marilyn Manson. Their provocative performances and shocking image quickly garnered attention, leading to a contract with Trent Reznor's label, Nothing Records, in 1993. Their debut album, "Portrait of an American Family" (1994), laid the foundation for subsequent success, while the EP "Smells Like Children" (1995), featuring a cover of "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)," brought the band widespread recognition. The album "Antichrist Superstar" (1996) was a commercial breakthrough, debuting at number three on the Billboard 200 and selling nearly 2 million copies in the U.S., while also sparking protests from religious groups. Subsequent albums like "Mechanical Animals" (1998), "Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)" (2000), and "The Golden Age of Grotesque" (2003) solidified the band's status as a countercultural icon. Despite numerous controversies, including allegations of misconduct and associations with the Columbine High School tragedy, the band continued to release music, including albums like "We Are Chaos" (2020) and "One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1" (2024), and embarked on world tours such as the "One Assassination Under God Tour" (2024–2025). Marilyn Manson is also known for his artwork and acting roles, remaining an influential figure in music and art.
