The first Mortal Kombat game designed entirely for sixth-generation consoles, marking a major turning point for the franchise with its reworked combat system and new storyline. In Deadly Alliance, villains Quan Chi and Shang Tsung join forces to eliminate Earthrealm's defenders and resurrect the Dragon King’s army. Gameplay saw significant changes, with each fighter given three combat styles—two hand-to-hand and one weapon-based. Graphics were noticeably improved, animations became smoother, and arenas introduced interactive elements. Traditional Brutality finishers were removed, but unique Fatalities remained for each character. The game also introduced the "Konquest" mode, offering training and additional content. Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance received high praise for its deep gameplay and polished visuals, becoming a crucial milestone in the series’ evolution.
