Muppets Most Wanted

A 2014 American musical crime comedy directed by James Bobin and written by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller. Serving as the eighth theatrical film featuring the Muppets and a direct sequel to "The Muppets" (2011), the story follows the Muppets as they embark on a world tour managed by their new agent, Dominic Badguy (Ricky Gervais). Unbeknownst to them, Dominic is the accomplice of Constantine, a notorious criminal frog who closely resembles Kermit. After escaping from prison, Constantine swaps places with Kermit, sending the real Kermit to a Siberian gulag overseen by the strict guard Nadya (Tina Fey). Meanwhile, Constantine and Dominic exploit the Muppets' tour as a cover for a series of heists, culminating in an attempt to steal the Crown Jewels in London. Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon (Ty Burrell) and CIA agent Sam Eagle investigate the crimes, suspecting a link between the thefts and the Muppets' performances. The film features numerous celebrity cameos, including Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, and Tony Bennett. Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, the film grossed $80.4 million worldwide against a $50 million budget. The musical score, composed by Bret McKenzie and Christophe Beck, includes original songs and reimagined versions of classic Muppets tunes. The film is dedicated to the memory of Jerry Nelson and Jane Henson, who significantly contributed to the Muppets legacy.
