Passengers

A 2016 American science fiction romantic film directed by Morten Tyldum and written by Jon Spaihts. The story unfolds on the starship Avalon, undertaking a 120-year journey to the colony Homestead II with 5,000 passengers and 258 crew members in hibernation. Due to a system malfunction, one passenger, mechanic Jim Preston (Chris Pratt), awakens 90 years early. Facing solitude, he decides after a year to awaken another passenger, writer Aurora Lane (Jennifer Lawrence), pretending it was accidental. A romantic relationship develops between them. Soon, they discover critical failures in the ship's operation, threatening the lives of everyone on board. With the assistance of android bartender Arthur (Michael Sheen) and awakened deck chief Gus Mancuso (Laurence Fishburne), Jim and Aurora strive to avert disaster and save the other passengers.
