A 1994 American action film directed by Jan de Bont. In Los Angeles, police officer Jack Traven (Keanu Reeves) confronts terrorist Howard Payne (Dennis Hopper), who has rigged a city bus with a bomb set to detonate if the speed drops below 50 miles per hour. Jack boards the bus and meets passenger Annie Porter (Sandra Bullock), who takes over driving after the driver is injured. Together, they strive to maintain the bus's speed, navigating obstacles and traffic, while the police work on defusing the bomb and rescuing the hostages.
