Street Kings

A 2008 American action thriller directed by David Ayer. The film follows Los Angeles Police Department detective Tom Ludlow (Keanu Reeves), who, grappling with his wife's death, turns to alcohol and works undercover in an elite vice unit. At the film's outset, Ludlow orchestrates a sting operation with Korean gangsters to rescue two kidnapped girls, resulting in him killing all the criminals and tampering with evidence to justify his actions. In the film's climax, Ludlow confronts Wander, who confesses to his crimes but attempts to justify them as protecting his officers. Ludlow kills Wander in a shootout, after which Captain Biggs offers him a chance at redemption, implying an opportunity to reform the system from within.
