An American action film from 1995, directed by Peter Hyams. The story follows Darren McCord (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a former firefighter traumatized by a child's death on duty, now working as a fire safety inspector at sports arenas in Pittsburgh. He takes his children, Emily (Whittni Wright) and Tyler (Ross Malinger), to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Chicago Blackhawks at the Civic Arena. However, during the game, terrorists led by ex-CIA operative Joshua Foss (Powers Boothe) seize the Vice President of the United States (Raymond J. Barry) and other hostages in a VIP suite, rigging the arena with explosives and demanding a ransom of $1.7 billion. Darren stumbles upon the conspiracy when his daughter is taken hostage and must single-handedly fight back, defusing bombs and eliminating terrorists one by one using his past firefighting experience and combat skills. In a tense race against time, he infiltrates the suite, battles Foss on the arena's roof, and ultimately throws him from a helicopter. The explosion is prevented, and Darren rescues his daughter and son. The film blends intense thriller elements with high-stakes action, often compared to "Die Hard" but set in a sports arena.
