The Doors

An American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California, by Jim Morrison (vocals), Ray Manzarek (keyboards), Robby Krieger (guitar), and John Densmore (drums), The Doors became one of the most influential and iconic bands in rock history. They gained fame for their unique sound that blended psychedelic rock, blues, and poetic lyrics, as well as for Morrison's charismatic and enigmatic persona. Their debut album, "The Doors" (1967), featured hits like "Light My Fire" and "Break On Through (To the Other Side)" and is considered one of the greatest albums of all time. Subsequent successful albums included "Strange Days" (1967), "Waiting for the Sun" (1968), "The Soft Parade" (1969), "Morrison Hotel" (1970), and "L.A. Woman" (1971). After Morrison's death in 1971, the band released two more albums without him: "Other Voices" (1971) and "Full Circle" (1972), as well as "An American Prayer" (1978), which featured Morrison's poetry set to music. The Doors were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. Their songs, such as "Riders on the Storm," "People Are Strange," and "The End," remain rock classics and continue to inspire new generations of listeners.
