Led Zeppelin

A British rock band formed in 1968 in London, England, by Jimmy Page (guitar), Robert Plant (vocals), John Paul Jones (bass guitar, keyboards), and John Bonham (drums), Led Zeppelin became one of the most influential and commercially successful groups in music history. Initially performing under the name "The New Yardbirds," the band soon changed its name to Led Zeppelin. Their debut album, "Led Zeppelin," was released in 1969, followed by iconic albums such as "Led Zeppelin II," "Led Zeppelin IV," and "Physical Graffiti." The band's compositions, including "Stairway to Heaven," "Whole Lotta Love," and "Kashmir," became rock classics. Led Zeppelin is known for their unique style, blending elements of hard rock, blues, folk, and psychedelic rock. Their live performances were renowned for their energy and virtuosity, earning them global acclaim. The band has sold over 300 million albums worldwide, including 111.5 million certified units in the United States, making them one of the best-selling music artists in history. They have received numerous awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005 and the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012. Following the death of John Bonham in 1980, the band ceased activity. In 2007, the remaining members reunited for a single concert in memory of Ahmet Ertegun, released in 2012 as "Celebration Day." In 2025, the documentary "Becoming Led Zeppelin" was released, detailing the band's formation and its impact on global music culture.
