The Execution

A Russian crime thriller and the feature debut of director Lado Kvataniya. The film follows special investigator Issa Davydov (Niko Tavadze) in 1991 as he confronts an unexpected development in a serial murder case previously considered solved. The emergence of a surviving victim casts doubt on earlier conclusions, suggesting that innocent individuals may have been executed. Davydov is compelled to reopen the investigation, grappling with personal doubts and pressures from colleagues and family.
