The Highwaymen

A 2019 American crime drama directed by John Lee Hancock and written by John Fusco. The film tells the story of former Texas Rangers Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner) and Maney Gault (Woody Harrelson), who are tasked with capturing the infamous criminals Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow in the 1930s. After Bonnie and Clyde's daring prison break, Texas Department of Corrections Chief Lee Simmons (John Carroll Lynch) persuades Governor Miriam "Ma" Ferguson (Kathy Bates) to bring Hamer out of retirement to apprehend the criminals. Hamer, despite his age and retirement, agrees and enlists his former partner Gault. Together, they embark on a complex and dangerous hunt for Bonnie and Clyde, facing numerous challenges and dangers along the way. The film meticulously depicts their investigation, the obstacles they encounter, and the tense moments leading up to the final ambush where Bonnie and Clyde were killed.
