A 2010 biographical historical drama film directed by Tom Hooper, telling the story of Britain's King George VI (Colin Firth). After his brother Edward VIII unexpectedly abdicates, he is forced to take the throne despite a severe stammer that hinders his public speaking. His wife, Queen Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter), finds speech therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush), who uses unconventional methods to help the king overcome his speech impediment. The film received critical acclaim and won multiple awards, including four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
