Catherine the Great

This 1995 historical biographical drama directed by Marvin J. Chomsky and John Goldsmith portrays the life and rise to power of Catherine II, Empress of the Russian Empire. The story follows young German princess Sophia (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones) as she arrives in Russia to marry Grand Duke Peter (Hannes Jaenicke), the future Emperor Peter III.
