A 1979 fantasy tragicomedy directed by Mark Zakharov, based on Grigory Gorin's play. The film follows Baron Münchhausen (Oleg Yankovsky), famous for his incredible tales. However, local authorities and society demand that he renounce his fantasies and admit they are lies. Under pressure, he complies and becomes an "ordinary man," but life without dreams proves unbearable. Ultimately, Münchhausen decides to be himself again, defying conformity and bureaucracy. The film also stars Inna Churikova, Leonid Yarmolnik, Alexander Abdulov, and others.
