The Witches of Eastwick​

An American dark fantasy comedy film from 1987, directed by George Miller and based on John Updike's 1984 novel of the same name. The story centers on three friends in the small New England town of Eastwick: Alexandra Medford (Cher), a sculptor and single mother; Jane Spofford (Susan Sarandon), a recently divorced music teacher unable to have children; and Sukie Ridgemont (Michelle Pfeiffer), a journalist and mother of six. Feeling lonely and unfulfilled, the women fantasize about their ideal man during one of their gatherings. Soon after, the mysterious and charismatic Daryl Van Horne (Jack Nicholson) arrives in town and begins courting each of them, awakening their hidden desires and magical powers. However, his influence leads to destructive consequences, including the death of local resident Felicia Alden (Veronica Cartwright), prompting the women to realize Daryl's true nature. They unite to confront him, using their newfound abilities. The film blends elements of satire, mysticism, and feminism, exploring themes of female independence, sexuality, and empowerment.​
