This Is Where I Leave You​

This 2014 American comedy-drama film, directed by Shawn Levy and written by Jonathan Tropper based on his novel of the same name, follows the Altman family as they reunite after the death of their father to observe a seven-day shiva, a Jewish mourning tradition. The protagonist, Judd Altman (Jason Bateman), a New York City radio producer, returns home after discovering his wife Quinn (Abigail Spencer) has been having an affair with his boss Wade (Dax Shepard). His sister Wendy (Tina Fey), a sarcastic mother of two, is married to the perpetually absent Barry but still harbors feelings for her ex-boyfriend Horry (Timothy Olyphant), who suffers from a traumatic brain injury. Their mother, Hillary (Jane Fonda), an outspoken and eccentric woman who authored a memoir about her family, insists on observing the shiva, despite their father's atheism. Over the course of the week, old grievances, family secrets, and unresolved conflicts surface, leading to emotional confrontations but also paving the way for reconciliation and renewed bonds among the family members.
