Welcome to the Jungle

A 2013 American comedy directed by Rob Meltzer. The film follows a group of office workers sent on a two-day team-building seminar on a tropical island. Among the participants are Chris (Adam Brody), a timid employee and former Eagle Scout; Phil (Rob Huebel), a manipulative bully who steals others' ideas; Lisa (Megan Boone), the HR manager and Chris's love interest; and Jared (Eric Edelstein), a sarcastic slacker. Leading the seminar is former Marine Storm Rothschild (Jean-Claude Van Damme). However, the situation spirals out of control when the pilot is found dead, and Storm is mauled by a tiger. Left without guidance, the office workers must fend for themselves. Phil attempts to assume leadership, but the group elects Chris. Displeased, Phil adds hallucinogenic herbs to his colleagues' coffee, leading to chaos and a split into two factions. Chris and his allies discover an abandoned building with supplies, while Phil declares himself a god among his followers. In the climax, Chris outsmarts Phil, and the group is rescued from the island, leaving Phil behind. Upon returning, Chris is offered a promotion but chooses to quit, taking Lisa with him. The film blends elements of comedy and satire, exploring themes of leadership, corporate culture, and human behavior in extreme conditions. Filming took place in Puerto Rico, adding authenticity and exoticism to the movie.
