White Bird

A 2023 drama film based on the novel of the same name by R.J. Palacio, serving as a spin-off to Wonder (2017). The story follows Julian’s grandmother (Helen Mirren) as she recounts her memories of growing up in France during World War II. As a young girl, Sara (Ariella Glattell) was a Jewish child forced into hiding to escape the Nazis. She is saved and sheltered by an outsider, Julien (Bryce Gheisar), who, despite his own fears, demonstrates incredible bravery and kindness. The film explores themes of compassion, friendship, and the resilience of the human spirit.
