A 2014 biographical war drama directed by American filmmaker Clint Eastwood. The film is based on the memoirs of Chris Kyle, who served as a sniper in the U.S. Navy SEALs. Kyle (Bradley Cooper), a Texas cowboy, decides to join the armed forces after a terrorist attack on a U.S. embassy and undergoes training in the elite SEAL unit. During his service, he meets Taya (Sienna Miller), and they marry. Kyle is deployed to Iraq, where he becomes a legendary sniper due to his marksmanship and confirmed kills. He is nicknamed the "Devil of Ramadi," and a bounty is placed on his head. During one mission, he encounters an adversary—sniper Mustafa, a former Syrian Olympic shooter. Kyle participates in house-clearing operations, confronting the brutality of war and moral dilemmas. His service affects his family life: Taya gives birth to a son and daughter, but Kyle struggles to adapt to civilian life and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. After multiple tours in Iraq, where he loses friends and faces dangers, Kyle decides to end his military career and return to his family. He begins helping veterans suffering from PTSD and finds purpose in this work. However, he is tragically killed by one of the veterans he was trying to help. The film concludes with footage of Chris Kyle's funeral procession, honoring his service and sacrifice.
