A 2010 American action comedy film directed by Kevin Smith. It is Smith's first film where he served solely as a director, with the screenplay written by brothers Mark and Robb Cullen. The story follows veteran New York City Police Department detectives Jimmy Monroe (Bruce Willis) and Paul Hodges (Tracy Morgan), partners for nine years. After a botched attempt to stop a cell phone store robbery and the ensuing shootout, they are suspended from duty. Jimmy is stressed about his daughter Ava's (Michelle Trachtenberg) upcoming wedding, which costs $50,000. Unwilling to accept financial help from Ava's arrogant stepfather, Roy (Jason Lee), Jimmy decides to sell his rare 1952 Andy Pafko baseball card to cover the expenses. However, during the sale, the card is stolen by a petty thief named Dave (Seann William Scott). In their quest to retrieve it, Jimmy and Paul cross paths with a memorabilia-obsessed gangster known as Poh Boy (Guillermo Diaz). Their investigation leads them into a series of comedic and action-packed situations, including rescuing a Mexican woman named Gabriela (Ana de la Reguera) connected to Poh Boy's criminal operations. The film blends elements of comedy and action, exploring themes of friendship, loyalty, and family values.
