Dark Shadows

The 2012 American gothic comedy film directed by Tim Burton is based on the 1960s television soap opera of the same name. The story centers on Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp), a wealthy and influential resident of 18th-century Collinsport, Maine. After breaking the heart of witch Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green), she curses him into becoming a vampire and buries him alive. Two centuries later, in 1972, Barnabas is freed and discovers his ancestral estate in disrepair, with his descendants, including Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer), her brother Roger (Jonny Lee Miller), niece Carolyn (Chloë Grace Moretz), and nephew David (Gully McGrath), living in disarray. Barnabas endeavors to restore the family's legacy while confronting modern-day challenges and the ongoing feud with Angelique, who still desires his love and control over Collinsport. The film also features Helena Bonham Carter as Dr. Julia Hoffman, Bella Heathcote in dual roles as Victoria Winters and Josette DuPres, and Jackie Earle Haley as Willie Loomis.
