Eagles

An American rock band formed in 1971 in Los Angeles, California, by Glenn Frey (guitar, vocals), Don Henley (drums, vocals), Bernie Leadon (guitar, vocals), and Randy Meisner (bass guitar, vocals), the Eagles became one of the most successful musical acts of the 1970s in North America and are among the world's best-selling music artists, having sold over 200 million records worldwide, including 100 million in the U.S. Their debut album, "Eagles" (1972), featured hits like "Take It Easy" and "Witchy Woman". In 1976, they released "Hotel California," their most acclaimed and successful album, with the title track reaching number one on the charts. The compilation "Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975)," released in 1976, became the first album to receive RIAA platinum certification and remains one of the best-selling albums in U.S. history, with 38× platinum status. The band has won six Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. After disbanding in 1980, the Eagles reunited in 1994 and continue to perform and record music, despite the death of Glenn Frey in 2016.
