EXO

SM Entertainment formed this South Korean-Chinese male music group in 2011, and it debuted in 2012. The lineup now numbers nine: Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Chen, D.O., Kai, Lay, Sehun, Suho, and Xiumin. Initially divided into two sub-units: EXO-K, targeting the Korean audience, and EXO-M, targeting the Chinese audience. After the departure of members Kris, Luhan, and Tao in 2014–2015, the group continued as a single entity. EXO's musical style encompasses elements of K-pop, R&B, hip-hop, EDM, electropop, and dance-pop. Their debut mini-album "Mama" (2012) earned them early accolades, including Best New Asian Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards. The first studio album "XOXO" (2013) achieved commercial success, with the single "Growl" receiving critical acclaim. EXO became the first artists debuting in the 21st century to surpass 10 million album sales. By 2023, they became "septuple million sellers," with over one million copies sold for each of seven different albums. The group has received over 180 awards, including 23 Daesang, and was recognized as the most influential celebrity in South Korea by Forbes in 2015 and 2016. EXO is also known for their sub-units, such as EXO-CBX (Xiumin, Baekhyun, Chen) and EXO-SC (Sehun, Chanyeol), as well as individual members' achievements in music, film, and television.
