Luis Miguel

A Mexican singer, born on April 19, 1970, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Spanish singer Luisito Rey and Italian actress Marcela Basteri. From an early age, he exhibited musical talent, with his father actively nurturing his career. In 1982, at the age of 11, he released his debut album "...Un Sol," which achieved commercial success and earned him his first gold record. In 1984, he received his first Grammy Award for the duet with Sheena Easton, "Me Gustas Tal Como Eres." In 1991, he released the album "Romance," marking a turning point in his career by reviving interest in the bolero genre and becoming one of the best-selling Spanish-language albums, with over 8 million copies sold worldwide. Throughout his career, Luis Miguel has released 22 studio albums, two live albums, eight compilations, and nine video albums. He has received six Latin Grammy Awards, five Grammy Awards, and 11 Lo Nuestro Awards. Known for his high-grossing concert tours, including the 2023–2024 tour, which became the highest-grossing Latin tour in history, grossing $356 million and attracting 2.38 million attendees. Luis Miguel is also known as "El Sol de México" and is considered one of the most influential performers in Latin American music history.
