American singer, songwriter, actress, and producer, born on August 16, 1958, in Bay City, Michigan. She moved to New York City in 1978 to pursue a career in dance but soon shifted to music. In 1982, she signed with Sire Records and released her debut single "Everybody," followed by the album "Madonna" (1983), which brought her initial recognition. Her breakthrough came with the album "Like a Virgin" (1984), solidifying her status as a pop icon. In the following years, she released successful albums including "True Blue" (1986), "Like a Prayer" (1989), "Ray of Light" (1998), and "Confessions on a Dance Floor" (2005).
