Major Grom: Plague Doctor

A Russian superhero action film released in 2021, based on the Major Grom comic series by Bubble Comics, directed by Oleg Trofim. The story unfolds in Saint Petersburg, where an experienced and principled police major, Igor Grom (Tikhon Zhiznevsky), encounters a mysterious vigilante known as Plague Doctor, who executes corrupt officials and wealthy criminals in dramatic fashion. The public is divided: some view him as a hero fighting injustice, while others see him as a dangerous murderer. Grom is assisted in his investigation by his new partner, Dmitry Dubin (Alexander Seteykin), and journalist Yulia Pchyolkina (Lyubov Aksyonova), who is conducting her own research. Behind the Plague Doctor's mask is businessman Sergey Razumovsky (Sergey Goroshko), an orphan-turned-entrepreneur and creator of the social network "Vmeste," who seeks to change the world through radical means. Grom must not only uncover the villain’s identity but also battle his growing army of followers willing to do anything to establish a "just" new order. The film blends elements of noir, high-octane action, and social commentary, addressing themes of corruption, justice, and media influence.
