Spider-Man

A 2002 science fiction action film directed by Sam Raimi, based on Marvel comics. The main character, Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire), is a shy and reserved high school student who gains superhuman abilities after being bitten by a genetically modified spider, including strength, agility, wall-crawling, and spider-sense. Initially using his powers for personal gain, Peter is shaken by the tragic death of his Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson) at the hands of a criminal he could have stopped, leading him to realize that with great power comes great responsibility. Creating his costume, he becomes Spider-Man and fights crime in New York City. Meanwhile, scientist Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe), the father of Peter's best friend Harry (James Franco), conducts a dangerous experiment on himself, transforming into the menacing Green Goblin. He emerges as Spider-Man’s greatest foe, spreading chaos and threatening Peter’s love interest, Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst). The final battle between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin ends in tragedy and fractured friendships, but Peter embraces his role as a hero, choosing to hide his pain to protect those he loves.
