An American action thriller film from 1996, directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Ringo Lam. The story begins in France, where police officer Alain Moreau (Jean-Claude Van Damme) discovers that he had a twin brother, Mikhail, whom he never knew about. Mikhail, involved with the Russian mafia, was mysteriously killed, prompting Alain to uncover the truth. Delving into the dangerous underworld of crime, he travels to New York, where his brother led a double life—working for the mafia while secretly planning to escape. In his search for answers, Alain meets Alex (Natasha Henstridge), Mikhail’s lover, who becomes his ally. Together, they are caught in a deadly game against not only the Russian mobsters but also corrupt FBI agents with ties to organized crime. Alain must rely on his combat skills to survive, uncover his brother’s hidden secrets, and seek justice for his death. The film is filled with high-speed chases, intense shootouts, and gripping fight sequences, while its thriller elements and dark noir aesthetic add to the suspenseful atmosphere.
