Nosferatu

A 2024 American gothic horror film directed by Robert Eggers from his own screenplay, it is a remake of the 1922 German expressionist film "Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror." The main roles are played by Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe. The plot follows young real estate agent Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult), who travels to Transylvania to meet the mysterious Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård), interested in purchasing property in Wisborg. Upon arrival, Hutter discovers that the Count is a vampire and becomes a prisoner in his castle. Meanwhile, in Wisborg, Hutter's wife, Ellen (Lily-Rose Depp), senses impending danger and begins to suffer from strange visions. Orlok sets sail for Wisborg, bringing with him a plague that claims the lives of many townspeople. Ellen, learning of Orlok's nature, decides to sacrifice herself to save the town by luring the vampire and delaying him until dawn, when sunlight destroys him. The film received high praise from critics for its fidelity to the original source, Eggers' direction, cinematography, soundtrack, makeup, costumes, production design, and the performances of the actors, especially Skarsgård and Depp.
